The exploits of various guests and employees of a luxury resort over the span of a week. HBO renewed the series for a second season even though the show was intended as a one-season limited miniseries. The show is said to be an anthology style series with new characters for each season. HBO has done this before (with great success) with the series Detective (2014). Featured on Jeremy Vine: Episode #4.175 (2021). I will say up front that this is not a series for everyone, it is different, there is a ton of character development, and it is a show that I would find much more fun to binge-watch than consume the one episode a week that I love. Limited series, there is immediately a starting and ending point set from the beginning. There are no cliffhangers written without an exact conclusion in mind and no series that continues beyond its lifespan. This series is so well done that it gives you a definite and acceptable conclusion that leaves little to nothing to conclude. It’s great when a season of episodes ends and leaves you begging for more, however it’s also great to see a short series that tells its story without leaving any stone unturned and you come back to live it. I was satisfied with the ending and enjoyed it. In many ways, I think this series left a wonderful model for future limited series.
